We have seen what are thoughts and how thoughts affect the mind and the body of the person.
In this blog, let us see what are emotions, different types of emotions and how are thoughts related to emotions.
Each thought that enters the mind has the potential to trigger one or more feelings or emotions. Emotions can be considered as reactions to certain thoughts or external events. Emotions triggers certain hormones in the body. These hormones or chemicals has the potential to affect the internal mechanisms of the mind and the body.
Emotions can be generally classified into 2 types based of the vibratory level :
- Higher Vibratory Emotions :
These are emotions which are of higher frequencies. Some of these are love, peace, happiness, joy, gratitude, forgiveness, contentment etc.
- Lower Vibratory Emotions :
Emotions affect the way we live our life in a positive and a negative way. Some of the feelings that we see in daily life is getting into an argument with someone and holding onto that emotion for a long time without releasing it. Even when a person is about to deliver a speech or presentation in front of many people there is a sudden fear which holds that person back for sometime. There can also be some situations in which we admire the talent and skill of our coworker and thereby get along with that person easily even if that person commits a mistake.
It is essential that you always try to vibrate with higher frequencies of emotions for your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being.
It is always essential that we don't hold on to any negative emotions for a long time. So what we need to do here is to divert our mind and release these negative emotions as early as possible. Some of the steps that we can take to release these negative emotions are :
- Engage in some activities that is very interesting so that we divert our mind from any negative thoughts or emotions.
- Engage with family members, relatives or friends and have healthy conversations with them so as to be happy, calm and relaxed.
- Take deep breaths. When you exhale remind yourself that you are not your emotions. Also visualize that you are releasing your emotions away from your mind and your body. Keep repeating this exercise for few times.
- Practice Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation. Regular practice of these holistic techniques helps you to get over unwanted thoughts and negative emotions. You would also have better control of your mind, body, thoughts and emotions. You would start realizing that you are not your emotions, thoughts, mind or body. Rather you are actually your spiritual self which is much more powerful and pure.
